Buxton

Buxton has a calm and relaxed air to it and, as the famous bottled water company have shown us, it has its own natural spring; discovered by the Romans in AD 78. In the 18th Century Buxton had seven public baths around the town but by the 1950s these had all closed. The town is just outside the boundaries of the Peak District but makes an ideal base for visiting the area.
